Patterdale 19/11/23

Fun wet and windy trip to Patterdale. After parking in Patterdale three different walks were completed. With the long walk setting out to summit Helvellyn via Whiteside and Lower man and returning via Raise. The strong wind and rain combined with the low cloud made the views when we dropped down sticks pass back into the valley very welcome. We enjoyed seeing all the stone left from the old mineworks and fantasised about buying one of the houses for sale near the youth hostel. Before returning to be the first group back to the Travelers rest in Glenridding for a well earned pint. 18km 1030m elevation.

The medium walk tackled the other side of Patterdale up behind the village going up past Angle tarn taking in the Angle tarn pikes before continuing on to Brock crags and then returning to Glenridding. The short walk completed a nice loop around Sheffield Pike including some sections of rough ground on the way up. – Josh
