After negotiating the heavy Newcastle traffic and enjoying a stop at Asda in Morley we arrived at Bens Bunkhouse near Llanberis late Friday evening and settled in nicely before going to bed.
Waking up Saturday we set out into the wind and rain up Elidir Fawr (923m)

before dropping back down out of the cloud and rain to the reservoir

and back to the vans where we spent an enjoyable afternoon in Llanberis having hot chocolate before exploring Dolbardon castle where we found a goat guarding the staircase.

We then returned to the bunkhouse to dry off and enjoy Jacob’s delicious sausage casserole and mash. After dinner we started on the cheese and wine before playing jenga, twister and the box game.
Sunday morning dawned with the rain and wind and after tidying the bunkhouse we belatedly departed enjoying the nice drive to Croeser where we set out for our walk. After crossing a few bogs we found a ‘cave’

then we ascended up the slopes of Cnicht (689m)

before returning to the vans in two groups one on the south ridge of Cnicht the other via the north where we found a big dam.
Overall a lovely trip where much fun was had. Thank you to all who came. – Josh
