Langdale 3/5/2025

A lovely sunny day dawned long before we awoke and set off on the coach from Newcastle, heading to Langdale.

Upon arriving we met up with Little Dom, Em and Diana and then set off on our walks.

The medium walk went up the Cumbria way onto the Langdales and then dropped down to Stickle tarn (below) where swimming and paddling were enjoyed. The tarn being nice and refreshing as the weather was beautiful and warm.

The technical route went up Jacks rake and then dropped down and went up the NE ridge of Harrison Stickle before continuing over to Pike of Stickle and then returning to the coach. Having a lovely scrambling day in the sun.

The long group started by going up the steep slopes of Pike o Blisco enjoying amazing views across Langdale. We then continued along the ridge to Crinkle crags where we gained views of the Isle of Man across the sea. After safely bypassing the bad step on Crinkle crags. One member broke his ankle, gaining himself a helicopter ride. Whilst two of us waited for mountain rescue, the rest continued off over Crinkle crags to Three tarns and down the band past some adorable lambs back to the coach.

Overall a beautiful day with lovely weather. Many thanks to all those who came and helped. Big thank you to Langdale and Ambleside mountain rescue team for their help. – Josh
