President
Hi I’m James, I’m from Newcastle and have been part of the society ever since I joined. After being secretary last year, I think I’ll be quite well versed to run the society as President this year, we’ve got more trips than last year planned and staying in some new places we havent been to before. I hope you join us this for another great year of fell walking!
Secretary
Hey, I’m Emma and I’m the Secretary! Besides from being the resident grandma, l’ll be heading up the weekly emails and helping the el presidente to keep things rolling behind the scenes. I’d recommend NUFWS if you like a laugh and are at your happiest at the top of a hill in the middle of nowhere.
Treasurer
Hi I’m Tom and I’m going to be this years treasurer. I was drawn to fellwalking as I wanted to see more of the world and get outside more. This is my third year in the society and my second on committee and I’m looking forward to the year ahead!
Welfare
Hi, I’m Eve, your Welfare Secretary. I’m here if you ever need a chat, some support, or just a friendly face. You can talk to me about anything-even something as important as my favourite pasta shape. I can’t wait to share everything NUFWS has to offer, from day trips and weekends away to some amazing socials. See you all soon!
Social Secretaries
My name is Dan and I am your Social Sec this year. I joined NUFWS because I love a long walk, a good view, and a well-earned pint.
I am Josh and I will be your Assistant Social Sec for this year! I am from Leeds and I love backpacking, climbing, kayaking and surfing. I was the Team Leader for Newcastle Kili Team last year and I hope to organise some great socials this year.
Walk Planner
My names Ollie and I’m from Teesside and I’m this years walk planner. I joined fell walking because I like going up mountains.
Social Media Secretary
Hi I’m Tom, and I’ll be this years social Media secretary. All the posts you see here will be curated by yours truly. If you have any questions or issues either message the Instagram or drop me an email!
Gear Secretary
Hi, I’m Ella – whether climbing or hiking, I’m a big fan of the great outdoors (and all the kit that comes along with it). As this year’s Gear Secretary, I will be working my hardest to make sure all our equipment is in its best shape for all members of our society to enjoy, and try and ensure our merch looks better than ever.
Mascot
Following a leisurely Summer Nads has returned as our NUFWS mascot. He’s hoping to continue a long tradition of not doing nowt, since he’s a stuffed toy.
